Data methodology
How The Sushi Directory sources, labels, verifies, refreshes and corrects restaurant information without manufacturing empty location pages or unsupported claims.
Last updated 2026-10-02.
Three evidence levels
Editorial listing: selected and summarised from a cited restaurant page, recognised guide or other relevant source. Source-listed: present in an attributed public dataset and passed geographic and duplicate checks, but not independently confirmed open. Verified profile: has an official or multiple-source check, a complete address, sources and an original factual summary.
How automation is used
Scripts merge records, normalise place names, detect duplicates, validate geographic boundaries, generate pages and audit links, structured data and sitemaps. Automation does not promote research candidates, create halal claims or write unsupported restaurant facts.
Freshness and corrections
Every build records a generation date. Some US records also carry dataset or official-source check dates. A failed link does not by itself prove a restaurant has closed; closures and material corrections require supporting evidence.
Publication boundary
Countries and cities without useful sourced records do not receive empty SEO pages. Restaurant profiles are generated only after the profile quality gate is met.
